Camping

The bathrooms has motion sector lights. Both times I took a shower, the lights went off and I hand to go out in the bathroom to get them to come back on. This was not fun.

Incredible

Beautiful campground!! Very quiet and peaceful with plenty of trees for shade. Entire campground was very clean and well kept and the comfort station was very clean and seemed to be freshly remodeled.

Not a fun weekend

Our family went up for the holiday weekend and were told the playground would be done and nothing was touched for the 3rd week in a row, there was females and males in the bathroom together which was not ideal for our 3 year old son who needed to use the bathroom or anyone else for that matter and the host was not seen around much at all

Clay Couty Campground

We love clay country park! We have camped here many times and will always continue to camp here! They are updating the playground which is great, but our child was so bored, there was only swings to play with. The playground has been out for awhile now and kids get so bored and not much for them to do. They always had basketball hoops but those are out as well so there is not much for kids to do. Also, the timer in the womens bathroom shuts off mid shower and it is not very pleasant. Again, these are minor and can be fixed and we are hoping they do because we love this campground and atmosphere!

Great RV spot

Had RV spot 40 for the fifth wheeler. Flat, easy to park. Great shade coverage. Water and dump facilities are fine. Power box location was fine. Good picnic table and fire pit.

nice park but needs help

the handicapped spot are the worst i have ever stayed in, they are slopped, unlevel, and not paved as all the other parks are for the handicapped. The bathroom next to the handicapped spot had no hot water so no shower, the stay was not very nice we left a day early because of this

peaceful quiet getaway

Clay County is our little "go to" place to camp. Honestly, there isn't anything extravagant about it. Just a quaint, peaceful, place to be. Even when it is full of other campers it has been wonderful and relaxing. One of our favorites are the trails. My wife utilizes them everyday when we are there for walks/runs. Most of the campsites are far enough apart that you aren't right on top of each other. There's lots of room between you and another camper. There are fire rings and picnic tables. There's a play area for the littles and two showerhouses. The oldest really needs a do-over and both need much better ventilation Improvements needed are better ventilation in the shower houses. A box fan does very little for air movement. In the newer shower-house the floor by the handicap shower is weak and needs support. I think if the edge/lip could be built up (or different shower surround) it would help; or another drain just outside of it. Previous staff added more shower links to make the curtain longer but it doesn't prevent water from going out onto the floor. These are just minor issues and won't deter us from staying.
