Walkers Point Needs A New Campground Host!!!!
We have camped at this park twice in the last month. Both times when we arrived the fire pits are filled with the previous occupants remains. Every other park we've been to the campground host cleans out the fire pits after the guests have left and move the picnic tables to the center of the parking pad. We have never seen the campground host until this last weekend when I knocked on his door and asked him to talk to our neighbors about the loud music. His reply was "I can't hear them" Well maybe you should leave your camper once in awhile and tour the park. He never checks to see if you are parked in the correct spot, he never comes around to ask if you need wood. I think the only thing this guy is looking for is free camping for the season. We've heard several comments from other campers about the lack of interaction from the host. You need to dump this dude and get someone in there that puts in a little effort to make you feel welcome. Especially after raising prices for state park stickers, cabin and camping fees.

Labor Day weekend
9E is the best spot if you want to be central to the bathrooms and the park. The weekend was great except that the was 1 super rude camper who tried to pick a flight over us fishing on the boat dock. We pulled our lines and moved out of the way for them like the sign said but apparently that wasn't good enough.

Awesome campsites with good clean facilities and activities for kids.
Quiet ... Besides a million fireworks ??
Friendly neighbors - with an awesome Park Staff to help ... with about anything if asked
Great place I go to often **IF** I can get a reservation....
They are usually booked solid and unavailable....
90 days in advance if you want a certain spot.

Same rules and regulations
Walker’s Point being a State Park and that for all State Parks should have the same rules and regulations across the board. I have been to a lot of State Parks over the years and it seems to me that every Parks has its own rules and regulations which just blows my mind since they are State owned have so many different rules and regulations from Park to Park.

Not bad at all
It was fairly quiet this time except for the GFP vehicle passing by trying to get someone to pay park fees. Watch out if you want to get close to the water! Just a little splash on dirt makes it very slippery. I found out by severely hurting my arm and skinned up my knees on the rocks.

Walkers Point
Nice campground adjacent to Lake Madison, with most of the camp pads adjacent to the lake. It was disappointing that so few camping pads had a view of the lake. The shoreline trees need to be trimmed up and brush needs to be removed. This would allow mowing closer to the edge of the bank and create great views of the lake from the camp pad. IMO GFP would have more camping night revenue at this park if the camp pads have better views of the lake.

It was a very nice site, near water. However, we did not meet camp host at all, even tho he was just across road and 1 campsite down.

Camping experience
Over all the experience was great. The only complaint was we used the showers 4 times with my family and each time we had cold showers. We tried both the ada and regular shower in both the womens and mens restroom.
