Lots to Explore
I came for a gravel bike race and decided to stay longer to explore the area. The historical sites like the town of Seim was fun to discover, and I was excited to find the Hugh Glass monument. The town of Lemmon has unique atteactions, and the local residents have been genuinley friendly. The park is well maintained and clean. The staff were very helpful! I really enjoyed the hiking trail in the park.

Great Experience
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend! The reservations were easy, check-in smooth, campsite roomy, well groomed and very nice size, the space was amazing! The restroom/shower were impeccably clean!!!! Loved!!! The archery course! I was not familiar w rental equipment but will be better rehearsed next time. We plan to return!

Great place to camp, as long as they stop trimming all the trees and losing the privacy that each campsite has. Please don’t wreck the whole campsite by cutting all the tree branches and opening it for

Shadehill campout
Nice facilities. Pretty park. Very clean--especially shower house. Very family friendly. Loved biking the area, and driving to the picnic area to see birds. Lots of great birds! Had a fun trip to Lemmon to see John Lopez's sculptures.
Did not love that the shower house seemed to be closed for cleaning at prime bathroom/shower time--every morning.(I realize all parks are strapped for employees so it's not a huge deal) Closest vault toilet to me was not cleaned every day---and got lots of use, got really yucky. Finally--on my last night, a mosquito fogger truck (I assume) made TWO passes through the campground at twilight---with lots of campers still outside. Maybe make an announcement so folks can choose to be at least in their campers when this occurs? I'd rather choose to use mosquito repellant than decimate the insect population and breathe in insecticide.
The reservation system did not seem to allow you to pick your site. We would have rather been in a more remote area, but we were placed in a "clump" of campers---with much of the camp with empty sites. We camped Mon-Friday.

Father's Day weekend at Shadehill
Clean facility and grounds. Loved that you could park your boat in the grass next to your site. I wish campsites in the Black Hills would allow this.

Where’s the TREES
We’ve always enjoyed Shadehill but I guess whoever’s in charge doesn’t realize the winds blows in SD. I was on 10 and which used to be a well protected site, not anymore trees are all cut to look like Whoville. No privacy and wind protection left? Please stop this madness.
