Quiet retreat

Upon arrival it i loved the privacy around the cabin. I also loved that it is close to the campgrounds so we could hike the trails and explore other areas. Enjoyed having a private dock and water access. 10/10 would recommend and plan on adding this to my yearly vacation spots.

Great experience

The July 4th weekend is very busy and crowded at all State Parks. However, everyone is a happy camper: friendly, patient, helpful, and cheerful. We always have a great experience at any state park. I would suggest that you have your Camp Hosts go around and introduce themselves to the campers. At some state parks, the host does this. It is just another way to welcome campers and let them get to know the host just a bit. We had a power outage during a storm on July 7. I was worried for quite a while that it was a problem with my camper until I found out myself that it was from the storm. It would have been nice to have the Hosts come to each camper and see if they need anything or just to inform us about any issues. Also, the garbage had not been picked up from the July 4th weekend, so dumpsters were overflowing and garbage was all around the ground. This overflow was even up to when we left on July 8th. Animals had gotten in and broken open the plastic garbage bags and the rainstorm left the area disgusting. I don't know what's up with sanitation department and garbage pick-up schedules, but it was unsightly.

Mina Lake was Awesome

Nice place to camp but trees need to be trimmed

Reserved a spot big enough for my 5th wheel camper but trees were hanging too low so could not back in and had to wait for about 1 hour for park staff member to get me a saw. The park staff lady was wonderful as she was very helpful.

We enjoyed our stay. Noticed safety concerns, while walking through the campground. Some of the pads have ledges

The fire pit has to be moved as it is totally on the wrong side of the camp site and so is the camp site directly to the west side of our site

Have never seen it like this.

Have been at Mina Lake several times and always on opening of Pheasant season for 1-2 weeks each year. Arrived and discovered one toilet in men’s restroom plugged. And very low toilet paper levels. TP was never refilled. Bought a plunger at Runnings and got the toilet working on and off. NOBODY from SDGFP was there to fix the problem OR fill TP in the restrooms. It was TWO WEEKS and nobody came to work it or stock the TP. We survived and had a good hunt despite this. But I have never seen anything like this at Mina Lake or any other SD Park campground. Don’t know what is going on but hope you can get it worked out before next Pheasant season.

Mina bathroom

The weather was still nice enough that I feel the bathroom could have still been open. The outhouse did not have toilet paper the entire week that we were there.
