Nobody home ??

I'm driving my mother out to Yuma AZ from Northern NY. It was EXTREMELY upsetting to get to the entrance at 8pm after driving in from Wisconsin to find the GPS took us to a huge "road closed" barricade. I called and got an automated answering machine to leave a message asking how to get in since I had a reservation since Sept 4th!!! I never received any information prior to coming about another entrance.... Google map and our sattalite GPS only showed me the one entrance. We drove out to Mitchell and spent the night in a Walmart parking lot. I the morning when we were already on the road to South Dakota did I get a call back saying they "hoped I found my way into the other entrance last night".

Awesome cabin

This was the first time we rented a cabin at Lake V. It was nice, clean, and the experience was amazing. The sound of nature, wind blowing, water. It was amazing to get away for one night.

Perfect spot and excellent dump

We grabbed an RV spot. It was well laid out and well kept. Nice trees surrounding the spot for privacy from others. The Park Manager met us at the spot and was very welcoming, as was Isabella at the entrance. We were able to pay for wood bundles for the fire. The wood was easy to light and burned well. We enjoyed a beautiful hike on the trail with lots of fall color. What really stood out was the RV dump station. It was one of the cleanest and best laid out stations—with equipment on top condition—I’ve experienced on my journeys.

Lake view

I loved the view of the lake. I'm a senior citizen and the rangers were kind enough to check on me when I stayed in my trailer for a few days. The only thing I didn't like, being on the east side of the lake, is the uneven sites that parallel the lake. I had to use all my levelers and the sites aren't quite as easy to back into. If you aren't used to backing up you may want to get a more traditional site

Weekend campers

We like the spacious lots. When we parked, the camper was almost perfectly level. We did not need to run it up on blocks to level it. The grounds are very well maintained. The restroom and shower were spotless. We really do not have any suggestions for improvement.

Beautiful fall camping

We stayed in a lakeside camping cabin in the East campground for 2 nights. The cabin was clean and grounds and comfort stations well kept. Being it was early October and the middle of the week it was very quiet. We felt safe. Staff was very helpful and kind, especially the younger guy working the day we checked in. We visited to west side to enjoy the playground and check it out. It was also well kept and cared for. Our only complaint is the mattresses aren’t very comfortable, but not a major issue considering it’s a camping cabin not a hotel. We will definitely stay here again!

Excellent stay

Very clean and quiet park. Staff are friendly and polite. Restrooms and showers are always clean. Playgrounds are always nice and well kept.

Need better signage

We didn’t realize campground had different entrances. So we drove around looking. We were grateful the Ranger saw us lost and gave us direction. It was after hours and we’d never been to this area before.

Camping trip

I have camped at this location many times. Always clean, quiet, easy access to vault toilet and regular bathroom, which are always clean and sanitized. The scenery is beautiful. The swimming lake is wonderful and the area is always clean. It is a wonderful place to get much needed rest and relaxation. The staff are always helpful and so very friendly!
