So-so visit
The upper shower rooms had no garbage cans or shower mats.
The dump sites were updated & they went out of their way to make it difficult to rinse your black tank out because the end of their hose only allows you to rinse the dump area out, you can’t hook the hose to your camper to rinse your tank out while dumping. I had to hook my own hoses to the potable hose to complete the task. Such a waste of clean water.

The camping cabins are so clean and convenient. When you are too old for tent camping, the cabins are a nice option.

Disappointed in south dakota
The prices that sd is charging out of state people is getting out of hand! Nonresident park stickers is the last straw for me. I will not be back. Every out of state person needs to not buy a fishing hunting or park permit for one year and maybe u will stop taping us!

My stay at Lake Herman
Park was under construction when you drove into the park. The dump station you could not use at all. We had some moroon let his dog out at 6 in the morning and it barked the whole time and no park person said anything also people with dogs and not on there leashes.

Quiet before season mud week campers
We camped right on the water. Big sites with lots of grass and shade. It was quiet in the evenings, and we saw a lot of wildlife.

Lake Herman State Park
Helpful park ranger did a nice job of getting us oriented. Would not hesitate to stay there again if back in the Madison area.

Nice park
Really enjoyed my time in the park. Like my campsite. Did not like disregard for the rules if my dog has to be on a leash other people's dog should be on a leash, I saw quite a few times peopke just letting their dog run loose. Other than that I had a great time. I will definitely be back.

Roomy and extremely clean cabin
Stayed for four days, cabin was spacious, extremely clean, had provisions for both heat and air conditioning and the view was of the lake, which was directly in front of us. The staff was pleasant to deal with. The showers and bathrooms were close to the cabin and extremely clean and well lit. Will definitely be coming back.

Good Enough
The park is beautiful and we love staying here. The only complaint I have this time is I received a call saying one of the comfort stations would be closed due to the time of the season. I can understand this. I was also told that the vault toilets would be open, great. However the vault toilet closest to our site was not open and when we asked the park host he was unaware of why it would be locked. He unlocked it and said there was no reason he could see for it being locked. A couple hours later when we tried to use it, it was again locked, We know it was not in use as there were very few people camping and we watched to see if anyone came out. I guess my thing is they should make sure the facilities are available as they indicate they will be or just tell campers that facilities will be limited and leave it at that.
