Like an oasis on the prairie, Burke Lake Recreation Area sits next to a 25-acre lake which is surrounded by trees. Whether boating, kayaking or canoeing, visitors enjoy this lake that averages only eight feet in depth. Native and introduced prairie grasses and wildflowers abound in the 206-acre park, and wildlife of all kinds inhabit this unique area. Open Year-round- Campsites available on first-come, first-served basis. Between Oct. 1 and April 30, water systems may be closed. Please contact the park directly for current status. Vault toilets usually remain open.
